Location: Edgar St. Condell Park
Q: What was the scope of the project?
A: The project involved the demolition of an existing structure and the construction of a modern childcare facility, with onsite parking. Making use of the maximum space indoors and out for the various functions of a Montessori project.
Q: What were the main objectives or goals of the project?
A: The goal of this project was to provide our partners at Montessori another childcare centre in the upcoming area around Condell park. We have collaborated with Montessori on several projects before and this strong relationship is only getting engrained further with every new project we create.
The high standards that Montessori provide us with works perfectly with our methods of work. This also makes working with them easier and clear from the start. Working together along our journey of creating the base structure of another space for the future generations to enjoy.
The site provides ample parking, state of the art working spaces and function rooms internally, classrooms etc. and extensive outdoor spaces for the landscapers to put their mark on the imagination of the new students.
Q: What were some challenges faced during the project?
A: Working with the clients from design to construction we have been able to meet and provide weekly updates on the progress and any updates or changes that they might want to include or amend. As usual we welcomed the clients feedback and prompt response and resolutions to any issues they might have had.
Our teams onsite were accommodating throughout the process ensuring onsite safety, neighbourly relations and working closely with the relevant consultants and engineers to overcome the expected challenges.
Q: What innovative features were incorporated into the project?
A: Each site provides a new feature or challenge to the team and we embrace this through the integration of the elements onsite. Keeping in mind all the time that this will be a functioning centre allows us to see how it will be run in the future.
Q: What were some notable milestones and achievements during the project?
A: Once again we have been able to stay true to our construction program and will be ready for handover prior to our scheduled handover date, this shows the commitment and seamless collaboration of our constructions teams and their management in the office and onsite.
Q: What were some key takeaways or lessons learned from the project? A: Being able to have the subcontractors work smoothly and enjoy being part of our projects gives them pride in the work they are completing and comfort in knowing that they will be joining us on yet another journey. Having this close working relationship built on trust and values, is reflected in the projects being completed and the professionalism of the teams. This is also confirmed by the clients ongoing appreciation of the whole process from initial meetings until the handover of the final product.
